The Higher School of Economics recently hosted a special programme for a delegation from Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology. Over the course of a week, top-level officials from the country learned governance practices in the fields of science, technology and innovation in a special class held by HSE ISSEK.
New Standard for Designing Innovation Development Programmes Promotes Innovation in State-Owned Companies
On July 2, the Higher School of Economics hosted a public discussion of the new methodological guidelines for designing innovation development programmes (IDPs) of state-owned companies. These were prepared by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development together with the Open Government with the participation of HSE, and approved in April, 2015 by the Presidential Council for Economic Modernisation and Innovatiion Development’s Presidium. The updated methodology increases importance of corporate innovations and — through introduction of KPIs — strengthens top managers’ motivation.

On 20 May, 2015 the third issue of the Russian Regional Innovation Development Rating published by the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge was presented at the Higher School of Economics (HSE). Researchers rated 83 regions by the integral indicator — Russian Regional Innovation Index (RRII).

4th Annual International Academic Conference 'Foresight and STI Policy'
On November 6-7, 2014, HSE 4th annual international academic conference ‘Foresight and STI Policy’ took place in Moscow.The conference was organised by the HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK), which includes the International Research and Educational Foresight Centre, a Regional UNIDO centre for technology Foresight in Russia and the CIS.Conference participants discussed issues related to forming national S&T foresight systems, developing foresights for separate sectors of the economy, and creating new tools for science and technology policy.The Foresight and STI Policy conference featured a meeting of the International Advisory Board of HSE ISSEK Foresight Centre.A collection of materials will be released after the conference by International publishing house Springer.A more detailed information on the conference will be published in the NEWS section of the website.
