How have students and instructors adapted to distance learning? Proctored Exams: Frequently Asked Questions

On June 10, Module 3 and 4 exams will begin at HSE University. Many students will be taking online exams with proctoring software for the first time. We have prepared the answers to the most frequently asked questions about the procedure. 

Open Doors Day-2020

According to tradition, in mid-April, the HSE ISSEK Master's programme “Governance of Science, Technology, and Innovation” holds an Open Doors Day. In conditions of social isolation, the meeting of potential applicants and programme representatives was first held in an online format — like “Open Windows Day”.

“To solve the everyday people’s problems”: Seminar in Yandex

On October 19, 2019, a seminar was organised at Yandex as part of the Mikhail Gershman’s course “Managing Creativity and Innovation”. It was led by Ekaterina Shor, Senior Key Accounts Development Manager, graduate of the Master’s Programme “Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation”.

HSE and Seoul National University Sign Cooperation Agreement

On July 17, 2017, HSE signed a memorandum of understanding on academic and research cooperation with Seoul National University (SNU). It covers joint research, joint projects, student and staff visits, as well as the sharing of academic resources.

Students Examine Cybersecurity Contextualization in Russia and the United States

Students from HSE ISSEK, Stanford University, and Rice University have researched how Russia and the US cooperate in cybersecurity and explored the nuances present in the approaches that each country takes in this area, including different understandings of cybersecurity-related terms. The research was conducted in 2016-2017 as part of the Stanford US-Russia Forum (SURF), a programme dedicated to developing US-Russia cooperation. Over a period of 8 months, 30 American and Russian students and young professionals worked on their projects.

Ability to Manage Technology and Innovation Is in High Demand

Science, technology and innovation policy is a field that requires special skills and knowledge. The MA programme in Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation trains professionals for management and policy making in this area of work. On June 28, the first cohort graduated from the programme. 

Vietnamese Delegation Studies Innovation Governance at HSE

The Higher School of Economics recently hosted a special programme for a delegation from Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology. Over the course of a week, top-level officials from the country learned governance practices in the fields of science, technology and innovation in a special class held by HSE ISSEK.

MA Programme 'Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation' Concludes Partnership Agreements with 5 Recognized Universities

HSE has finalised agreements with its international partner universities for new double diplomas and student exchanges in the framework of the Master’s programme in Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation. Dirk Meissner, Deputy Head of the Research Laboratory for Science and Technology Studies, Professor at the ISSEK Department of Educational Programmes and Academic Supervisor for the Master’s programme, spoke to the HSE English News service about how the new agreements are made to give master’s students the best opportunities for study abroad and double degree programmes while making sure they match HSE’s approaches and standards.
