HSE Workshop “Foresight and STI Policy” organised by the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge has come to a close. For two days (October 30-31) at the HSE premises – just at the foot of the Shukhov Radio Tower – signals were analysed that will sooner or later show up in contemporary socio-economic policy and in future news stories.
Moscow Gathers International Experts on Futures Studies at HSE Research Workshop on Foresight and STI Policy
October 30-31, 2013 National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) hosts its Research Workshop 'Foresight and STI Policy', organised by ISSEK. Well known and highly reputed speakers from leading research centres, universities, international organisations and transnational companies will gather to explore new frontiers in Foresight — one of the most requested instruments to analyse the future.
Luke Georghiou, Vice President for Research and Innovation, University of Manchester, UK is one of the key speakers at the HSE Research Workshop on "Foresight and STI Policy" which takes place in Moscow on October 30-31st, 2013. He gave a special interview for the HSE news service before the event.
On July 18 and 19, 2013, an international workshop on ‘Public Research and Industry-Science Links’ took place at the HSE. The event has been organized by the Research Laboratory for Economics of Innovation of the HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK).
Mario Cervantes, Senior economist, Head of Country Study and Outlook Division, Directorate of Science and Technology Policy, OECD, lectured 9 and 12 July 2013 at Higher School of Economics at the invitation of ISSEK International Laboratory for Science and Technology Studies.
On June 24—25, 2013 Professor Mariano Laplane, President of the Center for Strategic Studies and Management in Science, Technology and Innovation (CGEE), Brazil, visited HSE. As a result, an Agreement of Understanding was signed, which defined the areas for further cooperation between the Center and Higher School of Economics.
A new issue of the "Foresight-Russia" journal is out of print. The issue contains two articles prepared by experts from Italia and the US respectively who share best practice of evaluating and enhancing innovation performance at regional level. A Microsoft representative considers ethical aspects of the widespread penetration of ICT. Therewith the journal presents a revised macroeconomic forecast for Russia and reviews key events held by ISSEK in the framework of the XIV HSE April International Academic Conference.
On June 14, 2013 a visiting expert Giulio Perani delivered a lecture on 'Measuring Innovation beyond Enterprises: Options and Challenges' at the National Research University – Higher School of Economics (HSE). The event was organised by the HSE ISSEK Research Laboratory for Economics of Innovation.
29th April — 3rd May, 2013 Stanislav Zaichenko and Sergey Bredikhin, researchers at the HSE Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge (ISSEK), took part in the Executive Education Course “Evaluation of Science and Innovation Policies” organised by the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR), University of Manchester, Great Britain.
Edward Elgar Publishing has published a multi-author book "Handbook of Innovation Indicators and Measurement". Two chapters are prepared by the HSE ISSEK specialists.
